Thanks for being curious about our current needs! We work with lots of families every year, from brand new arrivals, to long-term neighbors facing new struggles, to families moving out of crisis situations into stable housing.

To see a list of current household/personal items our clients could use, please click the link below. Otherwise, follow the list on this page for general guidelines.

General Household Donations

Global Neighbors is blessed with some storage on-site at our office, but it is quite limited, and we need to prioritize items that will be used immediately and gratefully. If you are thinking of bringing items to donate, please see the guidelines below.

Gift Cards

We will always accept gift cards for groceries, gas, and home goods. These are space-friendly, give dignity to clients to make self-directed purchases, and they always fit.

Clothes

We do not take clothes. We just don't have space! If you have clothes to donate, please donate to our friends at Closet 701. This is where we take clients in need of clothing, and so it is likely that your donation will still benefit our families.

Winter Gear

While we do not take clothes, we will accept new or gently used hats, gloves, and winter boots for kids and adults. We wish we could take coats, but they are too bulky. If you have coats that you would like to donate, call ahead.

Books

We will gladly take English-language learning materials for adults, including books, picture dictionaries, flash cards, and citizenship study materials. New or gently used is acceptable. Please do not bring explicitly religious material, as we cannot always know which of our clients have experienced religious persecution in their home countries.

Furniture and Household Goods

We are often in need of these, but because space is tight, we have to be particular about what we need at any given time. Please see the list of current needs by clicking the button above. Please do not show up at the office with large items to donate without calling ahead. We may not have the man-power to help you unload, or the space to hold your items.
