Global Neighbors seeks to make a welcoming community for New Americans in central North Dakota. We believe that extending welcome to our newest neighbors is the best way to grow new generations of compassionate, successful, community-minded Americans.
Who is my neighbor?
Central North Dakota was first home to indigenous peoples who lived here for thousands of years. Before the 1800s, our community was primarily home to the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara nations.
North Dakota was granted statehood in 1889, and became home to European settlers from Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, and Germans from Russia.
Today's new comers are from all over the world--Cuba, Iraq, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Vietnam, Haiti, Mexico, and more.
How we serve
How you can help
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit that exists thanks to dedicated volunteers and compassionate donors.
Your time, gifts, and money go a long way to helping new immigrants and refugees feel at home here in Bismarck-Mandan, which in turn builds a healthy community we all benefit from.
Please consider becoming a hero donor or signing up to volunteer--or both! We are so honored to have you join us.
